Every family deserves a lifeline
Adopt A Family is a national Ambulex initiative that funds a year of emergency response cover for Kenyan households that have none.
The problem
Emergencies do not wait for families to find transport
A pregnant mother goes into labour in the middle of the night with no means of reaching a health facility. A child suffers a severe asthma attack far from emergency transport. A road traffic crash leaves a breadwinner critically injured as family members search for help.
For millions of Kenyan families, particularly those in low-income settlements, rural communities and underserved areas, ambulance services remain unaffordable, inaccessible or unavailable when needed most.
The initiative
Sponsors protect specific families directly
Adopt A Family gives sponsors a direct way to help: instead of contributing toward a large and distant problem, you protect specific households who would otherwise have no emergency cover.
You choose a cover package, starting from the Lite package at KES 200 per family per year, and the number of families to sponsor. Each sponsored family is enrolled on the Ambulex emergency response platform for one year, with ambulance dispatch, referral coordination and healthcare navigation when an emergency happens.

How adoption works
From sponsorship to a response on the ground
-
1
You sponsor
Choose any Ambulex cover package and the number of families. Your total is the package price times the number of families. Pay now, pledge, or pay in instalments.
-
2
Families are identified
Ambulex works with county governments, community health promoters, chiefs and local leaders to identify eligible households.
-
3
Families are enrolled
Each family is registered on the Ambulex emergency response platform for one year.
-
4
An emergency happens
Labour, a road crash, a stroke, a severe illness or a GBV incident.
-
5
Response is activated
The family calls the Ambulex emergency centre and help is coordinated: ambulance dispatch, referral and healthcare navigation.
-
6
You get reports
Every response is documented. Sponsors receive reports on families enrolled and emergencies supported.
